    CEO, Saban Music Group

    Gustavo Lopez serves as CEO of Saban Music Group, LLC. With his expansive knowledge as a leader in the music industry, and his 25 years of experience, he builds bridges where artists and business partners can efficiently reach their target audiences. With connection access, distribution, digital, branding, publishing and live event curation under one roof - and with the most experienced team in the business.

    Previously, Gustavo was CEO and founder of Talento Uno Music, the first U.S-based full stack entertainment company for Latin music, as well as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE), the world’s number one Latin music company. Gustavo also served as President and Founder of Machete Music, the nation’s leading urban Latin music company thanks to such chart-topping, multi-platinum selling artists such as Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Wisin & Yandel, Luny Tunes and Hector "El Father," among others.

    In 2012, Gustavo was selected by Billboard as one of the nation’s top brand players in Billboards Power Players List. Gustavo has also been actively involved in the development of Latin music and its artists, speaking at various conferences including, ANA Conferences, Billboard Latin Conferences and the Digital Hollywood Conference – just to name a few.

    Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, he moved to Los Angeles at age 11. Gustavo began his music business career working at Latin retail outlets at the early age of 15.

    Gustavo earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from California State University Northridge.

  • Todd von Mende

    Chief Financial Officer, Saban Music Group

    Todd von Mende is Chief Financial Officer of Saban Music Group. In this role, Mr. von Mende has the primary responsibility of leading the group’s financial strategy and operations while serving as the key finance liaison between Saban Music Group and Saban Capital Group.

    Mr. von Mende has an extensive background in music, media, entertainment and technology. Mostly recently, he served as CFO of ACTV8me, a Beverly Hills-based mobile advertising technology company. Prior to this, Mr. von Mende held a number of senior level positions including CFO/Head of Global Finance for Television and Home Entertainment at DreamWorks Animation, CFO of Capitol Music Group and CFO of Universal Music Group Distribution at
    Universal Music Group. Mr. von Mende began his career at The Walt Disney Company.

    Mr. von Mende holds an MBA from Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Diego State University. Mr. von Mende lives Studio City with his wife and three children.

  • José Otero

    Senior Vice President of A&R, Saban Music Group

    José Otero is Senior Vice President of A&R at Saban Music Group. Born in San Diego, California, José started his career in radio in 1998 in Tijuana, México as an on-air personality, music specialist and creative advisor. José is a dynamic and passionate industry veteran with over 20 years of experience and a strong background in radio programming, music strategies, talent development, market research, and artist relations. Prior to joining Saban Music Group José served as a Hispanic National Brand Manager and Program Director at iHeartmedia and for almost a decade built the foundation of his knowledge and expertise through a variety of leadership roles directly related to the company’s music, content, and branding initiatives in multiple markets including Chicago, Fresno and Miami.

  • Corey Berkowitz

    SVP, Urban and Pop A&R

    Corey Berkowitz has impacted popular music as not only an executive, A&R, and curator, but also as a songwriter, arranger, and trusted “Dot Connector.” Joining Saban Music Group in 2021 as Head of Pop & Urban A&R, he draws on this experience to spearhead A&R for a diverse and dynamic roster, including Don Omar, Chesca, Static & Ben El, Nakkia Gold, Mergui, and many more.

    “For me, it’s important to be a part of every step of the process,” he exclaims. “I’m not just an A&R who’s looking for talent; I’m part of the song’s creation. I understand how to take a song from zero to a hundred. There’s nothing better than helping artists bring their most authentic visions to life.”

    Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, Corey looked up to his radio programmer dad and absorbed an appreciation and deep understanding of Top 40 and pop. During his freshman year at Michigan State University, he began booking concerts, even arranging one gig for buzzing Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, and Mike Posner. Upon graduating, he relocated to Los Angeles and embedded himself within the city’s music scene. After a series of internships and early gigs, Rock Mafia [Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Eminem, Marshmello] recruited him in A&R. At Rock Mafia, he was immersed in every aspect of the process of bringing these songs to life.

    During a seven-year run with the renowned multiplatinum production and songwriting team of Tim James and Antonina Armato, he developed electronic and alternative phenomenon Elohim. During their time together, she played major music festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo. In addition, he discovered and signed Yoshi Flower, arranging a joint venture for the artist between Rock Mafia and Interscope Records. He personally secured Migos for “My Family” [feat. Migos, KAROL G, Snoop Dogg, & Rock Mafia] on The Addams Family Soundtrack, scoring hundreds of millions of streams worldwide. In his final year at Rock Mafia before joining Saban Music Group, Corey secured Megan Thee Stallion to feature alongside Maluma and Rock Mafia on "Crazy Family" for The Addams Family 2 Soundtrack. Under his purview, Darnell Williams landed synchs on HBO’s Silicon Valley and NETFLIX’s Coffee & Kareem.

    Signed to Downtown Music Publishing as a songwriter, he notably co-wrote Bahari’s “Ways of Love” and Quin XCII’s “Holding Hands” [feat. Elohim]. Along the way, he also fostered deals for the likes of Mod Sun and many others. In the summer of 2021, Saban Music Group sought him out and enlisted him as Head of Pop & Urban A&R.

    No matter what Corey does, he pursues the same goal.

    “I want to be a part of songs that are undeniable,” he leaves off. “Those songs that don’t require a million opinions, they just hit you right in the face. It starts with making the right connections and leveraging a deep, emotional understanding of who to introduce to whom.”

  • Eddy Laca

    VP Commercial Affairs, Saban Music Group

    Eddy Laca serves as VP Commercial Affairs for Saban Music Group. In this role, Eddy develops and maintains relationships with monetization partners including Spotify, YouTube and Apple, as well as builds existing and new income streams in relation to recorded content.

    Most recently, Eddy was Head of Commercial Affairs at Talento Uno Music.

    Prior to that, he held a number of roles at Universal Music Group including VP of Sales and Director of Commercial Partnerships

  • Ira Brian Miller

    VP, Head of Revenue & Digital Accounts

    Ira Brian Miller is VP, Head of Revenue & Digital Accounts of Saban Music Group. In this role, Ira has the responsibility of overseeing recorded music streaming, livestream performances, brand partnerships, merch, sync, and other revenue generating opportunities.

    Previously, Ira was a Music Business Partnerships Representative for the US at Apple Inc., partnering record labels with iTunes, while also helping to launch the Apple Music subscription platform in 2015, and worked in Artist & Label Relations at Beats Music while he helped launch the platform in 2014. Additionally, Ira worked in Social Media Marketing at AEG Live/Goldenvoice where he focused on marketing national tours such as Justin Bieber, Bon Jovi, Enrique Iglesias, and festivals such as Coachella, Stagecoach, and LA Rising. He was also on the artist management side as the Head of Digital Marketing at The Creed Co working with artists such as Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson, Sara Bareilles, LANY, and Troye Sivan, as well as held a leadership Streaming & Marketing role at Deckstar/YM&U Group working with artists blink-182, Steve Aoki, Morrissey, and more.

    Ira earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business, Marketing, and Management where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Ira now resides in West Hollywood, CA and grew up on Long Island, NY & NYC.

  • Charles Hamilton

    Head of Business & Legal Affairs

    Charles W. Hamilton is Head of Business & Legal Affairs for Saban Music Group and is responsible for overseeing all business transactions, contracts, and other legal matters related to SMG’s operations.

    Charles has held a variety of senior legal and operational positions over the years, most recently as Senior Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs at Warner Records, where he handled artist signings and renegotiations, label joint ventures, catalog acquisitions, and the defense of over $45M in audit claims. Charles began his legal career at Universal Music Group, where he was responsible for contract negotiations for the company’s Nashville division. Before the music industry, Charles held marketing roles at BA Investment Services and the Eastern Caribbean division of Chase Bank.

    Charles received a B.A. in Literature from Yale College and his J.D. from Tulane Law School.
